FAMILY LIBERATION PRAYER BY REV. FR. JOHN DAMIAN ADIZIE, OCD

This prayer is not just an individual deliverance but "Family Liberation."

Send this prayer to all the members of your family. 

Before embarking on this prayer:

1). There must be an agreement.

2) Majority of the family members must agree to renounce their family idols

3). Majority of the family members must agree to serve the Living God.

4). Majority of the family members must affirm their faith in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

5). You must say No to sin

6).  If possible, the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is recommended, before or during this prayer.

7) You must be ready to do the will of the Most High God.

8) With Phone, ensure that every member of the family is carried along.

8). Remember, the prayer of the wicked is an abomination unto God (Proverbs 15:8). So, hold no grudges against anyone. Try to forgive so that your heavenly Father will forgive you.

10). After this Family Liberation Prayer, you must appreciate God by sowing a seed into an Orphanage Home or to any Refugee or Internally Displaced Person's Camp (IDP)   

NB: If you are a Catholic, use the Rosary before the Bible passages. 

Others can use any method of prayer alongside with the following passages and prayer points.  

Day 1

Liberation from Ancestral gods

Introduction: Most of us came from pagan background. Our forefathers must have served one idols or another. Some of them even dedicated their entire household to idol either for protection or sacrifice. In Exodus 20:3 the Lord God declares, "You shall have no other gods before me." Light and darkness cannot co-exist, you need to renounce those ancestral gods and idols.

Reflection: Joshua 24:14-15

¹⁴ “Now therefore revere the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness; put away the gods that your ancestors served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. ¹⁵ Now if you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Prayer against Ancestral gods

Almighty and All-powerful, you are the Creator of heaven and earth. Besides you there is no other god.

Today, I renounce all ancestral gods. 

I renounce the spirit of idol

I renounce all forms of idol worship

I disconnect myself from the worship of images

I disconnect myself from any being that is not of the Living God.

Lord Jesus, deliver me from ancestral gods.

Deliver me, Lord, from ancestral spirits.

Deliver me Lord from every contrary spirit.

You, ancestral gods, pack your loads and go

-get out of my life! get out of my family!

From today, we decree, we shall not worship any man-made gods.

Jesus, deliver me and set me free.

Deliver my family and set us free.

As you protect and provides for us

We shall worship you all the days of our lives - Amen!

Day 2

 LIBERATION FROM EVIL LAND

Introduction: Land is a sacred property. Families cannot exist without landed property. Families build their houses on land. They walk on land. They use land for farming, and other forms of industrial development. When God wanted to liberate the Israelites from bondage the first thing he did was to assure them of a fruitful land - known as the promised land: In Exodus 3:8, the Lord God told Moses, "I have come down to deliver them from the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey." The promised land is therefore the essence of liberation. As God is liberating your family He is blessing you with a fruitful land.  Most lands have been polluted by all forms of evil. Evil people are planting charms on land. Most evil people most have marched their evil legs on your land. That is why your land need to be liberated and re-dedicated.

  

Reflection:

Genesis 3:17-19: “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree about which I commanded you,
 ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life; ¹⁸ thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.
¹⁹ By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Genesis 12:1-2

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. ² I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

Prayer against Evil Land

Heavenly Father, you created the earth and you handed it over to man as your first gift to mankind.

In your handover speech you told the man to be fruitful and multiply.

man disobeyed you and lost his land inheritance.

After the fall of man you placed a curse on the ground, the land became fruitless.

When you wanted to liberate Abraham you told him to leave his father's land to a land that you will show him. Abraham obeyed and became the father of a new generation.

Lord God, deliver my family from evil land.

deliver us from a cursed land.

deliver our land from charm and poison

deliver our land from anything planted by the evil ones.

Lord, deliver us from fruitless labour.

Uproot whatsoever the enemies must have buried in our land.

Bless everything we plant in our land.

Bless everything we deposit in our land. 

Lord, bless our Land and make it fruitful

Lord, bless us as you blessed the Israelites with a promised land

Bless us with a land flowing with milk and honey.

As you bless our Land, we shall use our land and the produce from our land to serve you all the days of our lives, in Jesus name - Amen!

Day 3

 LIBERATION FROM EVIL NAME

Introduction: Name is the essence of our identity. People are identified by their names. Without names there will be no identity. God did not create man without a name. The first thing God did after creation was to give the man a name and he also give man the authority to give names to all that He created: "So out of the ground the Lord God formed every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. ²⁰ The man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field" (Genesis 2:19-20).

Reflection: Genesis 17:3-6

³ Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him, ⁴ “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations. ⁵ No longer shall your name be Abram,^[b] but your name shall be Abraham;^[c] for I have made you the ancestor of a multitude of nations. ⁶ I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. 

Genesis 17:15-16

¹⁵ God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. ¹⁶ I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she shall give rise to nations; kings of peoples shall come from her.” 

Genesis 32:28

²⁸ Then the man said, “You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with humans, and have prevailed.”

Isaiah 43:1

But now thus says the Lord,  he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.

Isaiah 56:5

I will give, in my house and within my walls, a monument and a name  better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.

Isaiah 62:2

The nations shall see your vindication, and all the kings your glory; and you shall be called by a new name  that the mouth of the Lord will give.

Prayer against Evil Name

Heavenly Father, King of glory and King of heaven and earth.

We thank you for the gift of our names.

With names we are able to identify one another.

Unfortunately, after the fall of man most of our names were distorted.

Some of us even inherited idol and evil names.

These evil names are working against us.

Through the Prophet Isaiah 43:1 you restored our names.

And in the book of Revelation 2:17 you assured us that those who overcome you will give a new name.

Lord, as you deliver our family, bless us with a new name

Lord, cancel every evil name.

With this new name, the evil ones will never identify me again.

In any kingdom where they have submitted my name, I release fire!

In any shrine or evil altar where they have mentioned my name - I release fire!

In any gathering where they are discussing my name for destruction - I release fire!

Lord Jesus Christ, deliver me and set me free.

set my name free! Set my family's name free!

Set all the members of my family free!

From today, my name and my family's name will bring glory and honour to your name. Through Christ our Lord - Amen!

Day 4

 LIBERATION FROM PERSONAL IDOL

Idol has to do with images which one serve or even worship as god and in place of the Almighty God. Inherited idols are those idols which one acquire through his parents, forefather or families. Whereas personal idols are those idols that are specifically dedicated to an individual person. They are also those idol which one freely erected on his own and for his personal use. In a nutshell, anything that replaces God in our heart is an idol. For instance, those who are so attached to phone that they cannot exist without phone are idol worshippers. Unnecessary attachment to a car, make-up, money, and other images or material things can lead to idolatry. Our soul is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and not the temple of idol.     

Leviticus 26:1

You shall make for yourselves no idols and erect no carved images or pillars, and you shall not place figured stones in your land, to worship at them; for I am the Lord your God.

Ezekiel 14:3-6

³ Mortal, these men have taken their idols into their hearts, and placed their iniquity as a stumbling block before them; shall I let myself be consulted by them? ⁴ Therefore speak to them, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Any of those of the house of Israel who take their idols into their hearts and place their iniquity as a stumbling block before them, and yet come to the prophet—I the Lord will answer those who come with the multitude of their idols, ⁵ in order that I may take hold of the hearts of the house of Israel, all of whom are estranged from me through their idols. ⁶ Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Repent and turn away from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations. 

Prayer against the spirit of Idolatry

Heavenly Father, Creator of heaven and earth.

You are my Lord and my God.

You are the owner of my life.

Thank you for creating me to know you, to serve you and to spend eternality with you in heaven.

Lord, you love me so much that you did not want to share me with any idol.

Your first commandment is against all forms of idol worship.

but out of foolishness I have created so many idols.

I seem to love money more than I love you.

I value material things more than I value.

Yet, these things cannot even save me.

Lord, today I renounce all forms of idol.

I disconnect myself completely from idol worship.

I dispossess al  form of idols in my possession.

Lord Jesus, deliver me and set me free.

Set me free from idol worship.

set me free from the spirit of materialism

set me free from anything that occupies my mind.

From today, I surrender myself completely to you.

Accept me and do with me whatever you want.

For you live and reign forever and ever - Amen!

Day 5

 Liberation from Foreign gods

Foreign gods are those gods that are imported into the family from outside the family. Those idols are charms people collect from native doctors, occultic and marine kingdom.  In Psalm 81:9-10 the condemns the worship of foreign gods: "There shall be no strange god among you; you shall not bow down to a foreign god. ¹⁰ I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt." Today, we are renouncing strange gods and all forms of foreign gods." Any other god, apart from the Living God, the Creator of heaven and earth, the owner of our souls - is a foreign god. 

Reflection: Ezekiel 6:1-6

The Lord God said: ² Ezekiel, son of man, face the hills of Israel and tell them: ³ Listen, you mountains and hills, and every valley and gorge! I, the Lord, am about to turn against you and crush all the places where foreign gods are worshiped. ⁴ Every altar will be smashed, and in front of the idols I will put to death the people who worship them. ⁵ Dead bodies and bones will be lying around the idols and the altars. ⁶ Every town in Israel will be destroyed to make sure that each shrine, idol, and altar is smashed—everything the Israelites made will be a pile of ruins. 

Genesis 35:2-3

² Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, and purify yourselves, and change your clothes; ³ then come, let us go up to Bethel, that I may make an altar there to the God who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.” As you get ride of foreign gods, remember to erect an altar of the Most High God in your family. At least, you need an altar of the Sacred Heart in your family.

Prayer against Foreign gods

Almighty and ever living God,

You are the One and only God we know

Besides you there is no other god.

Lord, out of ignorance our fore-fathers sold themselves to foreign gods.

We, their children have also acted foolishly by attaching ourselves to occult and marine kingdoms.

Some of us have even been initiated into the kingdom of darkness.

Lord, deliver us from foreign gods.

Deliver us from foreign idols

Lord Jesus Christ deliver us and set us free.

from today, we hand our family over to you.

Be our God, our Defender and Protector.

As you deliver us from foreign gods we shall serve you all the days of our lives in Jesus Mighty name we pray - Amen!

Day 6

 Liberation from Barrenness and Infertility

Infertility is a perennial problem. It is estimated that one out of every six couples are facing the problem of infertility.  A good number of families are suffering due to lack of children. So many families have broken due to barrenness. Nothing can be so humiliating and so frustrating than a woman without a child. In fact, the family is incomplete without children.

Reflection: 1 Samuel 1:1-20

There was a certain man of Ramathaim, a Zuphite^[a] from the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Elkanah son of Jeroham son of Elihu son of Tohu son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. ² He had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children... ⁶ Her rival used to provoke her severely, to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb. ⁷ So it went on year by year; as often as she went up to the house of the Lord, she used to provoke her. Therefore Hannah wept and would not eat... ¹⁰ She was deeply distressed and prayed to the Lord, and wept bitterly. ¹¹ She made this vow: “O Lord of hosts, if only you will look on the misery of your servant, and remember me, and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a male child, then I will set him before you as a nazirite^[d]until the day of his death. He shall drink neither wine nor intoxicants,^[e]and no razor shall touch his head.” ¹⁹ They went back to their house at Ramah. Elkanah knew his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her. ²⁰ In due time Hannah conceived and bore a son. She named him Samuel, for she said, “I have asked him of the Lord.”

Exodus 23:26

²⁶ No one shall miscarry or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.

Psalm 128:3

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.

Prayer against the spirit of Barrenness

Heavenly Father, you are the source of life.

When you created man you gave him the mandate to be fruitful and multiply.

You created us to be fertile and fruitful.

The fall of man brought infertility and barrenness into the world.

The resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ brought restoration and fruitfulness.

Lord, by your death and resurrection - deliver us and set us free.

set us free from the spirit of barrenness.

Lord, deliver us from the spirit of infertility.

Lord God, make us fruitful as you are fruitful

Bless our home with good children

Bless all barren couples with their own children.

As you make us fruitful, may your name be glorified forever

In Jesus name -- Amen!

Day 7

  Liberation from Parental and Generational Curses

Introduction: So many families are in bondage today due to parental curses. A good number of families are even suffering from generational curses. It is very difficult to excel in a family that is under a generational curse. It takes the grace of God. When God wanted to bless Abraham the first thing he did was to disconnect him from generational curses. He even told Abraham to leave his father land to a land that He will show him. When Abraham was living in that land that was under a curse, he was poor and barren.  But the moment he disconnected himself from generational curses he became fruitful and rich, even in his old age. As God liberate you from your own generational curse he will richly bless you, in Jesus name - Amen!

Reflection:  Exodus 34:6-7

“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger,
and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, ⁷ keeping steadfast love for the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, yet by no means clearing the guilty, but visiting the iniquity of the parents upon the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

Numbers 14:18

 ‘The Lord is slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love,
forgiving iniquity and transgression, but by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the parents upon the children to the third and the fourth generation.’

Deuteronomy 24:16

Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their parents; only for their own crimes may persons be put to death.

Prayer against Parental and Generational Curses

Lord God, you are the source of our blessings

After creation you blessed everything you created

Adam, our first parents brought curses into the world.

Through Adam and even most of our fore-fathers we inherited curses. These curses have affected so badly and so negatively. So many things are stagnant in our lives due to parental curse. We are neither moving forward nor backward due to generational curses. Lord God, cancel all the curses the enemies are bringing against us.  Deliver us, Lord from parental curses.

Deliver us from generational curses.

Deliver us from evil charges against our family.

Lord, Jesus Christ - Restore our blessing, O Lord!

Lord, restore whatever the enemies must have taken away from us.

make channel of your blessings.

Through this family so many other families will be blessed and your name will be glorified forever in Jesus name - Amen!

Day 8

LIBERATION FROM ANCESTRAL TRADITION

Introduction: An ancestor is any person from whom one is descended. Ancestral belief has to do with faith in the soul of the dead, especially members of one's family who are dead. Most families are in bondage due to ancestral beliefs and traditions. Ancestral traditions are those evil practices which one inherits from his or her fore-fathers. Unfortunately, most of our ancestors were pagans. Most of their traditional belief and practices were not inspired by God. A good number of them were established through native doctors and agents of darkness. We are called to worship the Living God and not the spirits of our ancestors. And we are also called to follow God's commandment and not our evil human traditions.

Matthew 15:1

About this time some Pharisees and teachers of the Law of Moses came from Jerusalem. They asked Jesus, ² “Why don’t your disciples obey what our ancestors taught us to do? They don’t even wash their hands^[a] before they eat.” ³ Jesus answered: Why do you disobey God and follow your own teaching? ⁴ Didn’t God command you to respect your father and mother? Didn’t he tell you to put to death all who curse their parents? ⁵ But you let people get by without helping their parents when they should. You let them say that what they have has been offered to God. ⁶ Is this any way to show respect to your parents? You ignore God’s commands in order to follow your own teaching. ⁷ You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied rightly about you when he said: ⁸ ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; ⁹ in vain do they worship me  teaching human precepts as doctrines.’”

Prayer against ancestral curse and bondage

Lord God of heaven and earth. You are the creator of our ancestors. You are the only God we know. You will never share your glory with any spirit or any human being.  Out of ignorance and foolishness, most of us have abandoned your ways and are now following the evil ways of our ancestors, in the name of tradition and culture.

Today, we renounce all forms of ancestral beliefs.

We renounce evil cultural practices and we uphold divinely inspired cultures. 

Lord God, deliver us from ancestral gods.

Delivers us, Lord, from ancestral curses.

Deliver us from ancestral bondage.

Deliver us from evil ancestral traditions and practices

Deliver us Lord, from all forms of idol and ancestral worship

Lord Jesus Christ, deliver our family from evil ancestral connection

Deliver our family from ancestral bondage.

Lord, deliver us and set us free.

As you deliver us from ancestral bondage we shall live and serve you all the days of our lives, through Christ our Lord - Amen!

 

DAY 9

LIBERATION FROM INHERITED CURSES

So many people are suffering today due to curses they inherited from their ancestors and forefather. The most obvious inherited curse is the one we inherited from our first parents, Adam and Eve.

Reflection: Genesis 3:17-19

¹⁷ And to the man hean said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife,  and have eaten of the tree about which I commanded you,  ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you;
    in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life; ¹⁸ thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;   and you shall eat the plants of the field. ¹⁹ By the sweat of your face  you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust,  and to dust you shall return.”

The Prayer of Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:10)

Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from hurt and harm!” And God granted what he asked.

Prayer against inherited Curses

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for liberating us from all forms of curses through him.

Thank you for turning our curses into blessings.

Lord Jesus, you assured your followers that you did not come to condemn anyone.

Instead, you came into the world that we may have life in abundance.

Lord Jesus, deliver me from inherited curses

Deliver me from all the curses I inherited from my parents

Deliver me, Lord, from curses I inherited from my forefathers.

Deliver me, Lord, from all the curses I inherited from my ancestors.

Lord Jesus, deliver me and set me free.

Lord, turn every curses in my life into blessings

from today, I will be a channel of blessing

Through me my family shall be blessed

through me, my generation shall be blessed.

and through me, God's name will be glorified forever and ever - Amen!  

DAY 10

LIBERATION FROM EVIL ALTARS

An altar is an elevated place or structure on which religious rites are performed or on which sacrifices are offered to gods, to deity or even to ancestors. An evil altar are those altars that are erected for evil purposes. There is only one valid and life-giving Altar; and that is the altar of the Most High God. Every other altars are evil altars. Most families are established on evil foundations or what some people call evil altar. These evil altars have negative influence in the lives of each family member. Some of these altars are no longer visible - physically but spiritually they are still  tormenting members of the family where they are erected. Altars are spiritual entity. They can only be destroyed spiritually. As our Lord Jesus Christ rightly says, these altars can only be moved and destroyed only through faith, prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:20 and Mark 9:29).

1 Kings 16:30-33

³⁰ Ahab did more things to disobey the Lord than any king before him. ³¹ He acted just like Jeroboam. Even worse, he married Jezebel the daughter of King Ethbaal of Sidon and started worshiping Baal. ³² Ahab built an altar and temple for Baal in Samaria ³³ and set up a sacred pole for worshiping the goddess Asherah. Ahab did more to make the Lord God of Israel angry than any king of Israel before him.

Prayer against Evil Altars

Almighty God and Father,

I thank you for the Altar of Calvary.

The altar where our Lord Jesus Christ sacrificed himself in place of me.

Thank you for the Precious  Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

With the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He offered on the altar of Calvary, I know my case is settled.

With the Blood of Jesus and His Altar on Mount Calvary I do not need any other altar or sacrifice.

And so, Heavenly father, deliver me from every evil altar.

Deliver me, Lord from ancestral altars

Deliver me, Lord, from my family altars.

Lord God, deliver me and set me free.

As you deliver me from evil altars connect me Lord to your Life-giving altar.

Connect me, Lord, to the Altar of Calvary,

Connect me, Lord, to your heavenly altar

where you live and reign with the Son and Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever - Amen!
